We encourage creativity, a good working environment and a community approach for the benefit of all.

The Story Of Serafina

We’re a long way from Paraguay. Born on Aug 8th 1975, Serafina grew up on a farm 150km north of the capital Asuncion. She was 3rd in a large family with 5 brothers and 5 sisters. She left home aged 16 to work as an Au Pair for the Parga family in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2003 the family moved to Ireland and Serafina was brought along.

The family setup in Inch, Co. Clare, and ran a specialist cake business called Cakes By Desire, Serafina was the cake maker. In 2009 as the bubble burst, thousand-dollar cakes were no longer in vogue. Serafina moved onto work for the Garrigan family in Lahinch. She worked there until 2012 where she also managed the West Coast Lodge BnB.

From 2012 – 2014, Serafina worked for the Hennigan family in Lahinch. In 2014 Serafina fulfilled her passion for cooking and stepped up to Chef at The Coast Lodge in Spanish Point. From 2016 – 2023, Serafina was a Chef at Danny Mac’s in Lahinch.

The journey now resumes here in Kilmaley, on Oct 7th 2023 Serafina set out on her own after ploughing her life savings into this venture. She’s now a Kilmaley girl.
